Too bad I was too much of an idiot, and therefore needs to repeat the class again. The book I purchased did not come with this code. The examples that the book gives are the simplest examples, then half way through the exercises they get into more complicated problems that they have no examples for. They change the entire format of the problems so it really throws you a curve ball.
My entire class agrees that this book does not give you the necessary examples to complete the exercises in the book. Maybe so you will go online and buy a subscription for the MyMathLab? New price is high;used price good but more to spend for code! What a rip, what a money making book.
I thought I had managed to avoid it but here I am 35 years later enjoying it. Taught 3 courses out of this book By From Detroit on Apr 22, One of the local colleges in my area uses this book for their beginning algebra course.
It does have a lot of nice examples, and a fair number of homework problems. The integration with MyMathLab can be a tremendous asset, or very detrimental. It is quite easy to simply open up all the homework and let the students have their way with it. If used properly, it can really assist in the learning of the material presented in the text.
So why pay so much for it? Ultimately, any algebra books written within the past 20 years or so are pretty much the same. College code needed to do required online work! Great book By Scrapbookee on Feb 07, I took an algebra class in the fall of After a few weeks I realized I remembered this stuff from high school. I then proceeded to teach myself from the book, which I found quite easy. Even if the examples they give you are "simple" and then in the exercises the problems get "hard," you can still usually apply the examples to the exercises. I enjoyed this book. Take advantage of college students or the big rip off By Katie on Jan 09, Purchased this book and cd and found out that an access code was also needed for an extra This is so greedy of the publishing company.
We are asking our teachers not to use books from this publisher again Good book By Nydeuces on Apr 06, Good book, it teaches you how to do calculations on your calculator, but the directions could be a bit clearer.
I like that they showed you this though. That is something I have yet to see in any other textbook. Pretty decent math book. Seider on Feb 21, I had to get this for school. To be honest with you, it is pretty good but a lot of the stuff in the book my teacher still had to completely explain because the book did not make a lot of sense of it. You will come away from this one fully understanding the rudiments of algebra.
Was delivered earlier then originally stated which is nice. I was able to finish class with a passing grade. Thank you so much Amazon! This was a replacement. I "loaned" the first copy Thomas on Jan 29, This was a replacement. I "loaned" the first copy to a granddaughter I should have known. So yes, this was all I needed it to be.
Being able to pause, work things out, the little videos that help with the salient points, and a book right there to access It is a class unto itself; at my convenience.
