The CIA method is also known as the precipitation method. To make BP with the CIA method you will need to place your black powder into a saucepan than add a sufficent amount of water to make it into a sludgy mess.

Although i havnt tried small pistol primers out of a slug gun, they may be better than the rifle primers because of the thinner "cup" to increase sensitivity to the firing pin which may give detonation on softer targets.

These primers can also be added to small pipe bombs for added power. Just fill the pipe with primers, than add powder into all the gaps.
